Exhibitions > Tomas Vu: Into the Universe

Vu layers symbolic imagery to convey a psychological commentary on the discordance of our contemporary world. Often hinting at dystopia, his prints and paintings bring together technology and nature in erratic compositions by overlapping dense line work to form complex spatial relations.

Flatland is a series of collage formed from screen prints, laser cutouts, drawings and paint that create a futuristic environment where satellites, pine trees, blue prints and other structural elements emerge from floor to ceiling within a cosmic space. This fast-paced world he has created explores disaster, collapse, and rebirth as figments of memory battle reality, the debris of which is floating out into the universe.
